Recent Case Results
Attorney Ruff defended a Commercial driver charged with DUI in
Bakersfield. The BAC was above the legal limit and if he was
convicted he would lose his commercial license for one full year. Mr.
Ruff retained a toxicologist to rebut the accuracy of the breath test
and was able to get an acquittal of the excessive BAC charges thereby
saving his license and his job in December 2014.
Our Firm was retained by a student who lived in the bay area after he
was involved in a traffic mishap on the 99. The police were called
out and he was arrested for drunk driving, we got the DMV to return
his license on a technicality and the attorney persuaded the DA to
reduce the charges to an infraction.
We were hired over the Internet by a driver who was given a 22348b
violation, driving over 100 mph. He worked for a tech company and
was here on a work visa, not a US citizen. We went to court in
Lamont and got the charges dismissed at trial.

Everybody has had a bad encounter with a police officer while

from escalating into a situation you may not walk away from: First, if
the officer does something you think is improper do not argue or try
to assert your rights on the roadside. Get the officer's badge number
and contact his Department when you arrive home. All agencies are
required to take a report of misconduct and that report may stay in
the personnel file of the cop. Second, if you are asked to step out of
the car, do it. The law gives the officer wide discretion to request
this and if you refuse it could escalate the situation. If you follow this
advice you will be better off.
